Isack Hadjar (left) made his debut at the season opener currently sitting tenth in the standings. British teen Lindblad (right) is sixth in the F2 championship.
The Austrian squad has confirmed a major reshuffle for the 2026 F1 campaign, moving up Frenchman Isack Hadjar to its main squad and awarding 18-year-old Briton Arvid Lindblad his debut Formula 1 seat.
Lindblad, who has a Swedish father and a mother of Indian descent, will be the partner of New Zealander Liam Lawson at the second team VCARB.
These changes results in Japanese driver Yuki Tsunoda being without a drive post a half-decade in F1.
Arvid Lindblad participated in FP1 for the British and Mexico City Grands Prix in the current season.
Lindblad has been identified as a potential future star by Red Bull from the age of 12 years old.
Regarding the company's junior academy, a key advisor previously said that Lindblad "appears very talented", highlighting his "natural quickness".
Red Bull has been working since last year to ready Lindblad for his likely Grand Prix bow in 2026, featuring runs in Grand Prix practice at the British and Mexican races.
Lindblad stated it was a "dream come true", commenting: "Next season represents a big challenge, and I know there's a lot to learn, but I'm prepared to collaborate with the team and rise to it. I am incredibly excited to get started."
Lindblad has taken two races in F2 so far this season and is P6 in the standings ahead of the final round in Abu Dhabi.
Isack Hadjar celebrates his first podium in F1, achieved at the Dutch Grand Prix in August.
The Frenchman's debut season started in difficult fashion when he spun out during the warm-up lap of the first Australian Grand Prix. However, since then, he has emerged as one of the most impressive rookies of the year.
He featured an excellent podium finish at the Dutch Grand Prix, and he sits 10th in the championship.
A senior team figure commented: "Isack has shown great maturity and demonstrated to be a fast adapter. Crucially, he has the innate pace that is the primary necessity in this sport. We believe he can thrive next to Max."
Hadjar described it "an awesome move" and said he felt "up for the challenge".
For the seat at Racing Bulls, Red Bull have opted for Lawson over Tsunoda.
The New Zealander started 2025 with the senior squad but was demoted early in the year. He has settled back in at Racing Bulls with some strong performances, convincing Red Bull he deserves another season.
The Japanese driver, in contrast, loses his place after a disappointing season. His best result is a sixth place, and he has accumulated a minor percentage of the team's points total.
The driver market moves confirm that there is also no place on the Red Bull academy for Ireland's Alex Dunne, who will remain in F2 next season.
