Football Expert Sutton Takes On Artist Murs in Premier League Predictions

The Gunners' 10-game victorious streak came to an end by Sunderland prior to the international hiatus, but will the English top division leaders recover against local foes Tottenham this weekend?

"{I feel like Arsenal are miles ahead of Tottenham currently but Spurs boss Thomas Frank will have a plan for this game," remarked football specialist Chris Sutton.

"Frank will attempt to neutralize Arsenal, who have not always been at their scintillating best this campaign - but Mikel Arteta's team usually still manage to win."

The analyst is making predictions for all 380 Premier League games this season, against artificial intelligence, fans and a variety of guests.

In the twelfth round, he takes on performer Olly Murs, who is a United fan.

The singer's new album, the new release, is out on the weekend.

Soccer and Family Life

Olly is a talented footballer as well as a successful artist and has been a featured player of multiple Soccer Aid matches over time - but he is not intending a professional comeback as a player.

"{I actually played in a charity match the other evening for a friend of mine," he said. "The team was losing 3-1 when I was substituted in the second half, and they proceeded to win 4-3, so you can read into that what you will!

"I continue to love football, but I injured my knee a few years ago and it even now hasn't fully recovered. I hope I could play more but the uncertainty of the game means it's too dangerous for me in my career to do it properly again.

"Additionally I am 41 now, and we are not everyone is Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very happy not playing football and I am gearing up for the moment that my child or boy decides to play instead."

Murs and his wife Amelia Tank have two children, their daughter and Albert, and he is ready to emulate his dad by becoming their coach.

"I won't push football on our children but I've previously told Amelia that if they happen to get the passion for it then I will have to go and get my coaching badges - and I will likely be coaching their Saturday football side," he said.

"I observed my relatives play a lot, and I really got into it, and I clearly was involved with a football club for a while too.

"My father coached with us when I was a child, which is probably where I get it from. He managed our side for several seasons and had great fun with it. That could be the next step for me as well, and I am looking forward to it!"

Top Division Predictions

Weekend, 22 November

  • Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT

Chelsea might have to wait a bit longer for their star's return from fitness issues but their attack is now stronger with Pedro and Liam Delap both back fit.

In my opinion this game will be quite close, however. The Clarets are disciplined and their only home losses so far have been against Liverpool and Arsenal.

It suggests a 1-1 tie to me, but I am in fact going to choose the London side to edge it for what would be their third Premier League win in a row.

Sutton's forecast: 1-2

The singer's pick: The Blues will be superior. 1-3

Artificial intelligence's prediction: 0-2

  • Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT

The Cherries have been defeated in their previous couple matches - although both of them were away - but they got thoroughly beaten by Aston Villa last time out which shocked me.

On the other hand, the Hammers secured two in a row before the hiatus and, although both of those fixtures were at home, they appear strong again.

West Ham's only away victory this campaign came at Nottingham Forest in August, when their boss Nuno Espirito Santo was previously Forest coach.

Therefore, what exactly do I predict here - can West Ham continuing their run under their manager, or the home side responding?

I will choose Bournemouth, because I believe what occurred against Aston Villa was a anomaly.

The pundit's forecast: 2-0

The guest's prediction: The home team are doing well but the visitors have improved under Nuno. 2-2

AI's pick: 1-1

  • Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT

The Bees were considered one of the favourites for relegation before the season began, but they have surprised a few people under their manager and are in good form with three in their past four matches.

A family member told me to select Bees striker Thiago in my fantasy soccer squad a few weeks back and, guess what, I ignored the advice.

The forward will probably score again on Saturday but I am still not going to pick him or back Brentford at Brighton's ground.

They have not had great success on the travel this season, and the Seagulls are always strong at home. The visitors will try to hit them on the counter-attack but I think Fabian Hurzeler's side pose much more of a danger.

The analyst's prediction: 2-1

The singer's prediction: This could be a match where you think there is going to be a many goals but it actually turns out to be rather close. 1-1

The computer's outcome: 2-1

  • Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT

It is a huge fixture for the Cottagers, who have suffered defeat in five of their past six matches.

Fulham have have plenty of talent in their squad but it nonetheless feels like they could be sucked into a relegation battle.

Regarding Sunderland, well they are the surprise package of the top flight season so far.

The away side's display in the 2-2 tie with the Gunners last time out was excellent. We have not seen anyone else disrupt the Gunners like that this season, and they were more than a match for them.

The sensible thing would be to support the visitors here, because they are obviously capable of disrupting the hosts up too and, the previous occasion they were in this part of London, they defeated Chelsea at the end of October.

However I am not choose that. Rather, I truly need to continue going against Sunderland with my forecasts. I am claiming a lot of credit for their positive outcomes because they clearly love to prove me wrong.

Considering the home side's at Craven Cottage record, the sole side they have been defeated by is Arsenal. Their manager's team will be absolutely eager for a good result, so I am going to say they will secure three points.

Sutton's forecast: 1-0

Olly's prediction: I know the visitors are performing strongly and also that Fulham are on a poor run... but they have still been respectable at Craven Cottage this campaign. 2-0

AI's prediction: 2-0

  • Anfield, 15:00 GMT

It is a hard one to predict. The Reds have suffered seven of their last ten games in all competitions, but might they be among the sides who profit from the {international break|
