Ex- Doctor Charged with Sexual Assault Charges Against Thirty-Eight Individuals in His Care

Legal authorities have announced that a ex- physician has been charged with committing assaults against thirty-eight individuals who were patients.

The Serious Allegations

The accused, Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham is accused of numerous sexual offences – some of which involve acts against minors under the age of thirteen – spanning the period from 2017 and 2021.

A deputy chief CPS official commented, “Legal teams have diligently worked to assist a detailed and complex investigation, carefully reviewing the available evidence to determine that there is a strong case to proceed to trial and that it is in the public interest.”

The Investigation

The charges come after what police called a “complex investigation” into alleged assaults at medical facilities: a hospital in Stoke-on-Trent and Russells Hall hospital.

Spencer is due to appear at the North Staffordshire justice centre on 20 January.

Breakdown of Offences

The charging documents said the forty-five sexual offences comprise:

  • 15 counts of sexual assault.
  • 17 counts of assault by penetration.
  • 9 counts of assault on a minor under thirteen.
  • 3 counts of penetrative assault on a child under thirteen.
  • One count of attempted penetrative assault.
